“Identical twin sisters with a penchant for Michael Jackson hightail it out of Minneapolis and make for New York, where their handmade, studded eyewear makes fans of bling-loving celebs from Ashanti to Kelly Osbourne. Not the most usual story, but Coco and Breezy aren’t the most usual girls out there.” – Style.com
Coco && Breezy eyewear is a statement piece; the brand has shaped a reputation with exclusive store accounts, and a strong global magazines presence. The twins have always defined themselves by their collective individuality. In 2009 Coco and Breezy took on the responsibility of running their own brand. In September, after only 3 months, the girls decided to make the move to New York City. With very little time to prepare, they sold their car and quit their job. Armed only with their faith, the pair bravely made the trip to the fashion capital.
Within days of living in NYC, the twins took the city by storm, literally stopping traffic with their signature styles and confident attitudes. They realized they had something huge on their hands, when Kelly Osbourne was spotted wearing their signature “Spikey Studded” sunglasses on popular TV shows Dancing with the Stars and Good Morning America. “I’m obsessed with these sunglasses,”-Quoted Kelly Osbourne (in a YouTube video.) Known for sharp edginess and attention to detail, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Nicki Mina, Theophilus London, Natalie Nunn and Miguel Jontel have all been spotted wearing the Coco and Breezy brand.
Coco and Breezy have been featured in Publications such as Timeout NY, WAD, French Glamour, Essence, Paper Magazine, Teen Vogue, NY Times, and more. In Jan. 2011, the girls had their first venture in France and were the youngest, and only American women designers that took part of “Born designers,” alongside designers such as Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Theirry Lasry, and Jerome Coste. The twins had the honor to collaborate with legendary French brand “Vuarnet,” and customized a ski helmet. On a recent trip to Paris C&&B collaborated with popular European car brand “Renault”, shooting the campaign wearing the C&&B signature “Rainy Days” sunglasses. The twins make a perfect face for the new car, the “Twizy.”
Coco and Breezy expanded their line when they released their SS2012 “Rainy Days” collection, with their sights set on the future, the pair are fully aware of the hard work in store. Not tempted by the bright lights and the big city, they are in control of developing what is sure to become a lasting name in style and fashion. Constantly challenging themselves to raise the creative bar, Coco and Breezy represent the new generation of iconoclasts who are redefining youth culture. Totally happy in each others company, they live in a world all their own – We’re just visiting!
